If She Fails, Many Clinton Supporters to Back McCain, Indiana and North Carolina Exit Polls Say

(Washington, D.C.) — Exit polls from Indiana and North Carolina are good news–for John McCain.

A solid majority of U.S. Senator Barack Obama and U.S. Senator Hillary Clinton’s supporters said they would unsatisfied if the other candidate wins the Democratic nomination, reports Calvin Woodward, an Associated Press writer.

Fully one-third of Mrs. Clinton’s backers in Indiana and North Carolina say they would vote for Republican U.S. Senator John McCain instead of Mr. Obama if he is the Democratic nominee in the fall, according to today’s A.P. story.

Well, the Democrats got it now. A shiny, new split within the Party. “Look Ma, no unity!”

Obama Crushing Clinton in North Carolina, Leading in Indiana, Tracking Poll Says

(Uttica, NY) — U.S. Senator Barack Obama (D-Illinois) is once again trouncing U.S. Senator Hillary Clinton (N-York) in North Carolina, and still holds a tiny lead in Indiana, says the latest Zogby tracking poll.

Mr. Obama has a significant 14-point lead in North Carolina, winning 51% to 37%. Another 12% said they favored someone else or were undecided. In Indiana, Obama is on top 45% to 43%, with 12% undecided, according to the tracking poll.

Yesterday, the Zogby North Carolina tracking poll gave Mr. Obama an 8-point lead. The 2-point edge in Indiana remains unchanged.

The tracking polls, conducted May 4-5, 2008, are the final of Zogby’s two-day daily tracking surveys. In North Carolina, 643 likely Democratic primary election voters were polled. In Indiana, 644 likely voting Democratic primary voters were surveyed. Both surveys carry a margin of error of +/- 3.9% points.

The Clinton campaign is now seeking rabbits and hats from which to pull them.

Obama Leads in Indiana, North Carolina, Clinton Close Tracking Poll Says

(Uttica, NY) — U.S. Senator Barack Obama (D-New York) has an 8-point lead in North Carolina and a 2-point edge in Indiana, a new Zogby daily tracking poll shows.

The survey of likely Democratic Party primary voters shows that in North Carolina, Mr. Obama leads with 48% to 40% for U.S. Senator Hilllary Clinton (D-New York), and 13% either undecided or prefer someone else. In Indiana, Mr. Obama has 44% to 42% for Mrs. Clinton and 15% undecided or none-of-the above.

While Mr. Obama leads in Indiana, Mrs. Clinton appears to holds sway among the undecideds, Zogby says.

Obama Overtakes Clinton in Indiana, New Tracking Poll Says

(Uttica, NY) — In Indiana, U.S. Senator Barkack Obama (D-Illinois) has overtaken U.S. Senator Hillary Clinton (D-New York), according to a new tracking poll.

Mr. Obama now holds 43% support, compared to 41% for Mrs. Clinton, says pollster John Zogby.

The telephone survey, conducted May 2-3, 2008, sampled 595 likely voting Democratic primary voters in Indiana. That poll also carries a margin of error of +/- 4.1 percentage points.

A Rasmussen Reports survey conducted on April 29 said Mrs. Clinton was beating Mr. Obama 46-41% and that 13% were undecided. The survey had sampled 400 voters.

Clinton Takes 5 Point Lead in Indiana Contest, New Poll Says

(Indiana) — A new poll has Senator Hillary Clinton (D-New York) overtaking Senator Barack Obama (D-Illinois) in the Indiana Democratic primary.

Mrs. Clinton leads Mr. Obama by 5%. A new Rasmussen Reports survey says Mrs. Clinton is beating Mr. Obama 46-41%. There are 13% undecided. The survey sampled 400 voters and was conducted on April 29.

A Howey-Gauge poll taken on April 23-24, 2008 of 600 likely Democratic Indiana primary voters gave Obama a 2-point edge–47-45%–over Clinton. Undecideds totaled 8%.

An American Research Group poll also conducted April 23-24, 2008. of 600 likely Indiana Democratic voters gave Clinton a 5 point lead, 50-45%, over Obama.

Meanwhile, a South Bend Tribune, WSBT-TV, WISH-TV and WANE-TV poll taken on the same day of 400 likely voters gave Obama a 1 point lead, 48-47% over Clinton.

The see has sawed.

Obama’s Patriotic Image in the Toliet with Voters, New Poll Says

(New York, NY) — A new New York Times/CBS News poll of registered voters nationwide released today found Illinois Senator Barack Obama is viewed as the least patriotic of the three presidential candidates.

Only 29 percent of voters said they considered him “very patriotic,” compared with 40 percent who said Illinois native Senator Hillary Clinton (D-New York) was “very patriotic”. Senator John McCain (R-Arizona) was considered “very patriotic” by 70 percent of the voters.

Not good for Mr. Obama.

The poll was conducted April 25 through April 29 with 1,065 adults throughout the United States.

The Obama campaign better scrape up a flag pin for the candidate’s lapel. That’ll solve the problem. You betcha.

Polls Confuse, But Obama and Clinton Gullet-to-Gullet in Indiana

(Indiana) – According to two new polls, Senators Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama are gullet-to-gullet in next door Indiana, but poll each gives a different result. Naturally.

A new American Research Group poll conducted April 23-24, 2008. of 600 likely Indiana Democratic voters gave Clinton a 5 point lead, 50-45%, over Obama.

Meanwhile, a South Bend Tribune, WSBT-TV, WISH-TV and WANE-TV poll taken on the same day of 400 likely voters gave Obama a 1 point lead, 48-47% over Clinton.

That should provide clarity to the race’s outcome, no?
