Consumer Confidence Evaporates, IL Pols Nervous
(Chicago, IL) — A Gallup poll (conducted Jan. 19, 20, and 22) shows 82% of Americans think the economy is getting worse, while just 12% say it is getting better. The current “getting worse” number is nine points higher than it was in early January. Yikes.
Some incumbent Illinois state lawmakers up for re-election are nervous. They recognize that voters are likely to be in a surly mood come November. They’re right.
