(Springfield, IL) — March 23, 2010. The Illinois State Senate today approved legislation that limits consumer cable contracts to no more than two years.

The Senate ok’d the measure, Senate Bill 107, 52-0.

Sponsored by State Senator Don Harmon (D-Oak Park), the bill would limit cable and video service contracts to a two-year contract instead of one-year.

The legislation now moves to the Illinois House. State Rep. Dan Reitz (D-Sparta) is the sponsor.
