Illinois Election Results 2010: State Senator A.J. Wilhelmi Crushes Illinois Tea Party Darling Cedra Crenshaw

(Chicago, IL) — November 2, 2010. With 100% of the vote counted, State Senator A.J. Wilhelmi (D-Joliet) has handily beaten Illinois Tea Party darling Cedra Crenshaw.

The popular Wilhelmi won 37,876 votes or 60.9% to Crenshaw’s 24,276 or 39.1%. Crushed.

Crenshaw zoomed to national attention and became an Illinois Tea Party cause célèbre over her last minute efforts to get on the ballot, which initially stumbled, but ultimately managed to do so. But that was all she won.
